Fred Upton is a well known and highly respected business and litigation attorney who has engaged in lawsuits of all kinds at both the trial court and appellate level in New Hampshire state courts and in federal courts.
Some of his more significant cases include:
- Litigation limiting I-93 to a "parkway" while transiting Franconia Notch - Society for Protection of NH Forests v. Brinegar, 394 F. Supp 1105 (1975)
- Suit overturning matchbook safety standard of Consumer Product Safety Commission - D.D. Bean & Sons Co. v. Consumer Product Safety Commission, 574F. (2d) 643 (1st Cir. 1978)
- Supreme Court proceeding overturning legislation seeking to terminate the unified status of N.H. Bar Association - Petition of N.H. Bar Association, 151 N.H. 112 (2004).
Fred has also served leadership roles and been an active member of the following organizations:

Fred served in the U.S. Navy in World War II and was twice awarded the Bronze Star Medal.
