Erin Chadick v. City of Nashua (#02-E-0042), December 10, 2004, Decided. - Great verdict in gender discrimination suit brought under state law RSA 354-A. Erin Chadick was fired after just 16 days as a Nashua Police Officer. The City of Nashua claimed that Ms. Chadick had training difficulties that justified her termination. The evidence established that Ms. Chadick was treated differently throughout her training because of her gender and that she was not given the same opportunity as male officers to learn and improve. The Jury awarded $86,888.00 in back pay, $43,225.00 in front pay and $70,000.00 in compensatory damages. The City will also be responsible for paying Ms. Chadick's attorney's fees and costs.
